Time to burn off some steam! We all know that exercise is important for our physical health, but the objective doesn't always have to be fitness or appearance related. Doing exercise, even light exercise like walking, works wonders for your mind and is particularly beneficial for people who struggle with their mental health. For me, walking and swimming regularly are a key part of how I manage my bipolar, but I want to get stronger and so now I incorporate cardio and strength training into my routine. How long does it take to actually lose your gains?? This question came up a few times in the past few days. Days that were spent out at sea with dolphins , snorkeling with sea turtles , eating at restaurants for every meal 🥘, taking down many a bottle of Martinique's finest rum 🥃 to the face (lol), and obviously not going to the gym ‍️. Well, sadly for all of us, the minute ⏱ you stop training is the minute your body stops building muscle. How quickly your muscle mass and strength decline depends on a number of factors, but one thing is definitely for sure: You’ll always lose muscle ️ in a much shorter time than it takes you to build them.
