Blonde is pretty? Yes.
Brunettes are pretty? Yes.
Red heads are pretty? Yes.
Rainbow hair is pretty? Yes.
But blonde is better right? No.
There are hidden biases in so many judgements we have. Eurocentric Beauty Standards is one of them. If a girl has blue eyes, slim nose, fair skin, and blonde hair it's not hard for her to be standardly pretty. Why is that? Because of our history from so long ago advertises that blonde has always been better. "Why does it matter what people do with their hair Caila? Let them live their lives." Someone may comment. What I'm saying is little things like this build up to why a girl feels ugly and manipulates herself to fit the standards. America has way more races than white. Generally, white girls get blonde hair.. Notice the trend? Lindsay Lohan said " I feel prettier with blonde hair " her natural fierce red hair was gorgeous. We all have insecurities but think deeper... Why did her insecurity lead her to want blonde out of all colors? This isn't a thought from an "angry black woman" I'm not a "jealous" troll. It's the truth. We live in a world where instead of embracing the way we are born, we can change and manipulate ourselves to what the standard societal beauty makes for us. Unfortunately, that standard isn't to embrace yourself but to look like someone else.. For people who don't seem convinced, blonde isn't better. We've all just been taught that. Just typing in the world "celebrities" in Google look what came up.. National bias.
Side note: Dear Blondes, I'm sorry you get called pretty but dumb simultaneously. Not all blondes are "easy" nor do they always want to party. Society makes it so no one truly wins.
And that's the sad part. We can fix it by rejecting what's been given to us. Remember girls, beauty isn't a weight, skin color, or hair color.
