After last night, all I can say is: I am beside myself. I am ashamed to be a part of this country even more than before. I do not stand by what this new president represents.
For those who support him I hope you understand what is coming. If you voted for him or supported him you have encouraged: racism, sexism, bullying, emotional turmoil for minorities, truly helped set history back 50 years, etc... He enabled all the things we were trying to change and out came the underbelly of our country.
I do not share your views.
Although she wasn't the best candidate, she was for positive change, and for moving "forward" as a united nation. She would have honored what Obama worked hard for: marriage equality, affordable care, women's rights (especially for equal pay), peace, financial stability, etc.... I was taught from a very young age to embrace everyone because we are all human and what I witnessed from his start of his campaign was just disgusting. Although I am glad all of this is over, it still does not bring any relief, rather it has ignited a fire within.
I will be taking a break from all this social media bullshit (especially Facebook) that has helped divide us and cleanse all the hate, bickering, racism, sexism, bullying and so on until I find peace and love within.
For now, my heart and soul is black. I feel for the younger generations to come, that will have to clean up the mess that is coming our way for the next four years.
I will not congratulate anyone, rather, I will sit back and sip on my lemonade and watch the world burn. #election2016 #NotMyPresident #hawaiivotes #futureisuncertain #burn #WeWontGoBack #refuse #resist #darktimes
